Market up on interest rate cut


KUALA LUMPUR: Bank Negara’s decision to cut its benchmark interest rates and the positive close on Wall Street helped nudge the 100-stock KL Composite Index higher in early trade on Thursday.

At 9.30am, the KLCI was up 7.42 points to 880.83. Turnover was 57.2 million shares valued at RM37mil. There were 126 gainers, 36 losers and 63 counters unchanged.
