THE higher profile for the Malaysian Industrial Development Authority (Mida) when it assumes the role as the investment authority will give it more clout to attract more investments, especially in the non-financial services.
RAM Holdings Bhd chief economist Dr Yeah Kim Leng says Mida had done well in attracting manufacturing investments but its proposed new status as a one-stop centre, would enable it to focus on services, which had been lagging when compared with other countries.
