UMW Toyota sold 101,600 vehicles in 2008


KLANG: Despite the challenging times in the automotive industry, UMW Toyota Motor Sdn Bhd - the distributor and assembler of Toyota vehicles in Malaysia, managed to chalked a new sales record of 101,600 units in 2008.

Managing director Kuah Kock Heng said on Thursday UMW Toyota Motor’s sales figure was slightly above 18% of the total industry volume (TIV) for last year. In 2007, UMW Toyota Motor sold 82,000 Toyota vehicles or 17.1% of the TIV for that year.
