SINGAPORE: Oil prices rose above US$43 a barrel Wednesday in Asia as investors looked to an expected OPEC production cut next week to help stabilize prices that have plummeted amid a global economic slowdown.
Light, sweet crude for January delivery was up $1.21 to $43.28 a barrel in electronic trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange by midday in Singapore.
