PETALING JAYA: Skrine & Co lawyer Lim Chee Wee yesterday said he had not breached the rule against conflict of interest in acting for Bursa Malaysia after having acted for Indian Corridor Sdn Bhd, as alleged by the legal counsel for Golden Plus Holdings Bhd (GPlus) at its AGM yesterday.
In an e-mail statement, Lim said the rule against conflict of interest was generally understood as a prohibition preventing a lawyer from “acting against a former client where the lawyer is alleged to have acquired knowledge which may prejudice the former client, whether real or otherwise.”
