KUALA LUMPUR: The market got off on a firm start on Friday, as some buying of index-linked stocks like Genting and Sime Darby lifted the 100-stock KL Composite Index but Asian markets were mostly lower.
At 9.30am, the KLCI was up 4.1 points to 1,028.84. Turnnover was 27.17 million shares valued at RM34.71mil. There were 94 gainers, 50 losers while 92 counters were unchanged.
