CALGARY, Alberta (AP) - As many as 300 birds have died after flying into an oil spill at a well in Alberta, officials said Wednesday.
The leak of between 60 and 90 barrels of sweet heavy crude oil was discovered at the suspended well Monday by a survey crew. Such wells are plugged but not formally dismantled.
