SEOUL: Samsung SDI swung to an unexpected profit after six straight quarters of losses, helped by a stronger battery business.
Samsung SDI, whose plasma business ranked as the second largest in the world in the second quarter, posted net profit of 49.6 billion won (US$49.3mil) in the second quarter to June 30, beating a consensus forecast for a 19.5 billion won loss by Reuters Estimates.
