GEORGE TOWN: A Malaysian delegation will leave today for Brussels to discuss with European Union’s (EU) food and veterinary officers on the possible ban of local seafood to EU countries. The team will comprise representatives from the Health Ministry, Agriculture and Agro-based Industries Ministry and the Malaysian Frozen Foods Processors Association.
Sources said the delegation would negotiate for a grace period so that the authorities in Malaysia would have time to enforce corrective measures recommended by the EU for the seafood production and supporting infrastructure.
