PETALING JAYA: Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB) won a tariff hike yesterday to help the utility company meet rising cost of producing electricity after the Government announced a series of cuts on fuel subsidies.
Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi told a press conference yesterday that effective July 1, electricity rates for residential homes in peninsular Malaysia would go up by 18%, while business owners would have to pay 26% more.
