KUALA LUMPUR: Bursa Malaysia closed down 13.24 points, or 1%, at 1,287.43 yesterday but that was not due to the shock announcement of former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad resigning from Umno.
Analysts said the decline in the benchmark KL Composite Index (KLCI) followed a turn in Asian stock markets yesterday after days of gains prompted by what has been described as profit taking on concerns over skyrocketing oil prices.
