SYDNEY: Andrew Forrest, founder of Fortescue Metals Group Ltd, has surpassed James Packer as Australia’s richest man as a mining boom reshapes Forbes Asia's Rich List.
Forrest, 46, has a fortune estimated at US$6.6bil in Forbes’ list of Australia and New Zealand’s wealthiest people, released yesterday. That’s up 450% and 10 places from last year as the value of his 36% stake in Fortescue Metals almost doubled.
