KUALA LUMPUR: Opus Group Bhd’s subsidiary has proposed to acquire UK-based Joynes Pike Group Ltd, which is involved in engineering and surveying, for £4.3mil (or RM27.39mil).

Opus said yesterday its subsidiary Opus International Consultants Holdings (UK) Ltd had signed an agreement with unrelated third parties on Monday to acquire the entire equity of Joynes Pike.

Joynes Pike is a medium-sized multi-disciplinary engineering and surveying practice based in Nottingham with over 170 employees.

“The acquisition will enable Opus UK to expand its presence in the UK. Opus Bhd group’s focus will continue to be infrastructure and asset maintenance and development, blending the combined strength of Joynes Pike and Opus UK,” it said.

Opus said the acquisition would be financed from the group’s own funds.
