KUALA LUMPUR: Naza Kia Sdn Bhd aims to sell over 2,000 units of the new Naza Sorento 2.5-litre CRDi turbodiesel model this year.
According to business development and operations support manager Nicholas Gomez, the company is confident of achieving the target as the model has been enhanced with state-of-the-art accident avoidance features and that its suspension modifications would provide a better balance of ride and handling. It also has a contemporary new look.
“Most importantly, the price has been maintained at just RM138,888 on-the-road. The Sorento also comes with a five-year or 125,000km warranty, whichever comes first, together with a two-year or 50,000km free service package, which includes labour and lubricants,” he said after the launch yesterday.
The three-year-old Sorento was Naza Kia's first foray into the sport utility vehicle (SUV) market and had clinched a few awards last year.

“Designed with European input and with Malaysian buyers in mind, it has been a success since it was newly launched with sales in Malaysia to date exceeding 5,500 units,” Gomez said, adding that the Sorento accounted for 50% of Naza Kia's sales in the SUV segment.
The Sorento also ranked third in the SUV market in Malaysia last year.
Naza Kia has no immediate plans to launch new models this year. “Instead, we will continue to improve our point of sales, service processes and enhance our customer service to better meet customers' expectations,” Gomez added.
