KUALA LUMPUR: Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB) reported a big jump in net profit for the three months ended Nov 30, 2007, thanks to an increase in electricity demand and a stronger ringgit, which helped reduce the cost of its foreign-currency debt.
Chairman Tan Sri Leo Moggie said the group’s performance was boosted by a 7.7% growth in electricity demand and a corresponding 8.8% increase in revenue from sale of electricity.
