KUALA LUMPUR: Petronas Dagangan Bhd has allocated RM500mil to build 70 new petrol stations this year, said senior general manager Md Fadzlan Abdul Samad.

Speaking to reporters at the Petronas Super Car Craze Contest prize presentation here, he said the company would spend RM5mil to RM7mil on each station, and about RM10mil for a hyper-station.

Petronas Dagangan currently has more than 870 petrol stations nationwide, with four hyper-stations located at Bukit Antarabangsa and Setiawangsa in the Klang Valley, Bentong in Pahang and Langkawi.

The hyper-stations provide quick-serve restaurants, drive-thru facilities and other conveniences.

Md Fadzlan said the company was looking for sites with enough space and good potential to build hyper-stations.

“We try to put up a petrol station with as many offerings as possible at one particular site,” he said. – Bernama
