The year 2008 is expected to be a watershed year for the Malaysian economy, says Sullivan O'Carroll, managing director of Nestle (M) Bhd. He expects consumer spending to be affected by inflationary pressures. For Hitachi Data Systems Malaysia, 2008 will be a positive year for small and medium scale enterprises that have been granted generous Government incentives, says managing director Johnson Khoo. Oil and gas player Deleum Bhd will consider a merger and acquisition if there are complementary services and expertise to be tapped, according to group managing director Chandran Aloysius Rajadurai.
