PETALING JAYA: Although Proton Holding Bhd seems to be turning around, without a strong global partner the national carmaker will find it hard to achieve economies of scale and develop new technologies, said analysts.

The Government's move to end talks with Volkswagen and General Motors was a disappointment. But analysts said it might not be the end of the world yet if Proton was still on the look-out for alliances.
