KUALA LUMPUR: Supermarkets and hypermarkets should withdraw fees for carrying goods by small and medium enterprises (SMEs) as this is deterring them from marketing their products.
Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Minister Datuk Shafie Apdal said it was unfair to charge SMEs listing fees for placing Malaysian products on the shelves because, currently, only less than five per cent of SME products are sold in supermarkets and hypermarkets.
