PENANG: Three local companies will take part in the MSC Malaysia-British Telecom (BT) Digital Lifestyle Programme, launched in July, to develop digital lifestyle products.
Under the programme, the companies – CEEDTec Sdn Bhd, Coraza Technologies (M) Sdn Bhd, Increaso Media Sdn Bhd – will turn the digital lifestyle prototype products developed by BT into commercially viable products.
CEEDTec is an MSC-status company that specialises in providing innovative engineering design services as well as complete turnkey product development services to customers in the electrical and electronics sector.
Coraza specialises in providing cutting-edge technologies for the communication and networking sectors, while Increaso provides complete digital media solutions and consultancy advice on the innovative usage of information communication technology.
Multimedia Development Corp (MDEC) chief executive officer Datuk Badlisham Ghazali said at the signing of the agreement between the three Penang-based companies and BT on Tuesday that the programme addressed the growing popularity of digital media entertainment products used at home.
“MDEC and BT have started segmenting the areas of competency in the country and, through the programme, will demonstrate the digital lifestyle product prototypes to the small and medium industries,” he said.
Badlisham said a series of roadshows showcasing the various ICT prototypes developed by BT organised by MDEC would be launched soon.
“Our objective is to place MSC companies here in a competitive position in the digital home and convergence market,” he said.
