Based on an official announcement by the Kazakhstan government current daily production of crude oil was 64 million tonnes per year or 1.34 million barrels per day. Preliminary studies by the Government revealed that projected reserves were 100 to 110 billion barrels – the third largest after Saudi Arabia and Iraq.
