KUALA LUMPUR: The Tunku Abdul Rahman College School of Business Studies Alumni Association will organise an economic forum titled Relooking at Our Rice Bowl: Trends and Realities of the Malaysian Economy on Oct 20.
“We are actively trying to get traditional businesses to go modern and adopt new business expertise,'' Institute of Strategic Analysis and Policy Research (INSAP) chairman Tan Sri Lau Yin Pin told a press conference.
“This is to counter the effects of globalisation and to use modern technology and create awareness in view of the new economic landscape in the region that is brought about by growing competition from China and India,'' he said.
Between 500 and 600 participants are expected at the public forum.
Wanita MCA chairman Datuk Dr Ng Yen Yen will deliver the keynote address and officiate the forum. Four speakers would give their views on the subject.
The forum is organised in collaboration with INSAP, Life Long Learning Centre (MCA) and MCA ICT Resource Centre.
