LONDON (AP) - European stocks ended higher Tuesday, as the revival of merger and acquisition activity fueled investor confidence that the dust from the subprime debacle may indeed be settling.
The U.K.'s FTSE 100 Index closed 1.1 percent higher at 6,615.40, while France's CAC-40 Index climbed 0.6 percent to 5,861.93. Germany's DAX Index advanced 0.1 percent to 7,980.44.
