PETALING JAYA: Crude oil price hit a record high of US$80.18 a barrel in overnight trade yesterday following an announcement on Wednesday of a drop in the US fuel stockpile and concerns that a storm in the Gulf of Mexico would disrupt supply.
The price of Nymex light crude in New York hovered at around US$79.60 most of yesterday, hitting a high of US$79.96 at 4.57pm Malaysian time.
