SHANGHAI: China’s central bank tightened disclosure rules on sales of asset-backed bonds after the collapse in securities backed by US subprime loans caused investor losses around the world.
Financial institutions offering asset-backed securities must supply details on the underlying loan portfolio, including type of loans, interest rates and personal data on borrowers such as age and address, the People’s Bank of China said in a statement on its website. – Bloomberg
