KUALA LUMPUR: The strengthening of the ringgit has not affected the country's exports, International Trade and Industry Minister Datuk Seri Rafidah Aziz said.
She said overall the export industry was growing despite some aberrations.
"It is not a declining trend. It is (just) a monthly fluctuation. The overall annual growth is there and it is normal to have some aberrations along the way," she said at launch of Malaysia International Trade and Industry Report 2006 on Friday.
Rafidah said manufacturers needed to improve efficiency so that this fluctuation in the currency would not affect them, and added that it was not affecting them currently.
"Manufacturers and exporters must now understand what it takes to price their products and services," she said.
"They must not just rely on the bonuses that they gained via exchange rates. I believe that all of them are in full control."
