U.S. to tighten controls on exports to China of high-tech products

WASHINGTON (AP) - The U.S. government says it is tightening controls on exports to China of a range of high-tech products that could be used by China's military.

The new regulation, which is scheduled to take effect next week, also will create a new category for authorized Chinese customers that will cut down on the paperwork needed to buy high-tech products from the United States.
