THE award-winning Bandar Botanic in Klang has a new hot addition that is sure to draw people to buy its elegant houses.
It's the six-star residents' clubhouse, which was officially opened on May 12. Many residents and guests turned up for the open day event.
Indeed, this is a big bonus given by Gamuda Land Bhd to the purchasers of its Bandar Botanic homes, as the new RM30mil Botanic Resort Club clubhouse on eight acres is the biggest and the best in Klang.
Located near the gated community of Ambang Botanic, the high-end enclave in Bandar Botanic, the clubhouse is billed as one of the biggest clubhouses in the country.
Designed by Belt Collins, an international acclaimed design firm, the clubhouse has comprehensive facilities such as a multi-purpose hall with six badminton courts, two squash courts, a building housing eight table tennis tables, a 50-metre Olympic-sized lap pool, a huge resort-style fun pool with a section sloping gently into the pool, steam bath rooms, library, jacuzzi, children's play area and a fully equipped gymnasium.
Facilities like a multi-purpose room, coffee house and a fun pub are opened to the public.
Gamuda Land, the property development arm of main board company Gamuda Bhd, has put in much effort to make this clubhouse an integral part of the 1,240-acre Bandar Botanic in Klang.
The township, with a gross development value of RM3bil, is about 65% completed and over 6,000 units have been handed over with 70% being occupied.
It boasts a unique parkland waterfront concept with a central lake within 80 acres of elaborate thematic parks and gardens, 100-acre green lung and eight water features.
During a recent media tour, I was impressed with the lovely clubhouse and the Bandar Botanic development. This is one township where so much is given back to the residents to enhance the quality of their lifestyle.
Ultimately, it will also help to enhance property values in the township and make it a preferred place to live.
With the largest Jaya Jusco in the country being built nearby and Giant and Tesco hypermarkets a few minutes' drive away, residents of the self-contained Bandar Botanic need not travel to Kuala Lumpur to do their shopping.
The first thing that strikes visitors to the clubhouse is the unique gushing water feature forming an arc-like entrance statement to Ambang Botanic.
As one enters the clubhouse's resort-style reception area, one is greeted by more water features like ponds on one side of a coffee house and an Olympic-size swimming pool on the other side.
However, discreetly hidden from view, is an armoury of three-layered sophisticated security system including CCTV cameras and spotlights along Ambang Botanic's perimeter fencing, motion sensors and an integrated home security alarm system with a panic button in each home that could alert the guard house in an emergency.
I also visited the security command centre that is manned round the clock.
Gamuda Land managing director Chow Chee Wah said the clubhouse was only the first phase of the 13.7-acre Botanic Resort Club development. There will be a second phase costing RM8mil on about five acres where a Chinese restaurant with a large banquet hall and a floating gazebo would be built.
He said safety and security were vital aspects in the township's master planning. As such, all the homes are linked via green belts to the recreational areas and residents, especially children, need not have to pass through the internal roads.
Bandar Botanic is divided into two parcels (A and B) that are separated by Jalan Langat. This road leads to Klang at one end and to Banting at the other end.
It is at the corner of a flyover from the Kuala Lumpur-Shah Alam Expressway (Kesas), thus making the township very accessible to various parts of the Klang Valley, the KL International Airport and the North South Expressway.
Parcel A (568 acres) boasts a lake precinct designed with water fountain features, floating broadwalk, flower-bridge, waterwheel and gazebo. There is also a main park designed with landscaped boulevards, lakeside walkways, flower tunnel and amphitheatre.
Residents can walk or jog along a 10km walkway, jogging track and cycling trails that meander around the lakes and waterways.
Parcel B (672 acres) has a unique waterfront living with eight water features and 150 species of plants and the Botanic Resort Club clubhouse. This parcel also has the Ambang Botanic, the first gated community living in Klang. A tiny island has been turned into a children's park here.
Ambang Botanic on 184 acres will have 800 homes, of which about 70% had been launched and 80% sold. The high-end homes include bungalows and semi-detached houses.
It is linked to Parcel A by a bridge over Jalan Langat. A flyover would be built from Parcel B to Kesas. Coming up is the Botanic Capital commercial centre on Parcel B. There will be a shopping mall, hotel, college and 201 shop offices.
