SHANGHAI: The Global Food Mart in the Guangzhou Free Trade Zone (GFTZ) is inviting food suppliers and operators from all over the world to invest and market their products at its latest platform.
With a total area of 7,500 sq m spanning three floors, the year-round bonded Food Mart is open to all food manufacturers to showcase their products ranging from fresh produce, fruits, poultry, nuts, frozen and canned products, confectionery and snacks to beverages.
The Food Mart is located at the centre of GFTZ, a crucial part of the Guangzhou Economic and Technological Development district set up 15 years ago. Over 90 investors from Fortune 500 companies from all over the world have successful ventures in the area.
Managed by Wasdon Food Co Ltd, the Food Mart offers exhibition and marketing services.
Wasdon Food president David Wei said the company would customise packages for clients, including major players and small enterprises, to help them plan their marketing strategies better.
“Global Food Mart (GFM) is actually a platform for exporters and importers. There is no specific rent (for clients to showcase their products) but clients pay for the service package designed to market their products.
“It is true that there are many platforms for exhibitions in China but the uniqueness of GFM is that clients would not need to pay any tax to exhibit their products,” he told the media during a presentation here recently.
He said the Food Mart was scheduled to open in August and the company was recruiting clients and exhibitors.
GFM operations director Susie Wei said the mart would be opened for a year to serve as an exhibition and trading platform.
She said clients would not only be able to break into the Chinese market but also benefit from the marketing models drawn up to help them gain profits. For more information, visit www.globalfoodmart.com.cn.
