Strong demand for CPO a boon for plantation stocks


PETALING JAYA: Plantation stocks were among the gainers yesterday on expectation that crude palm oil (CPO) prices could touch RM2,500 per tonne this year due to strong demand from India and China. 

Kuala Lumpur Kepong Bhd and IOI Corp Bhd jumped 50 sen each to RM13.50 and RM25.75 respectively. PPB Oil Palms Bhd gained 20 sen to RM14.90 while Kumpulan Guthrie Bhd improved 20 sen to RM6.45.
