PUTRAJAYA: A decision on the right "combination" of companies for the build-up of fibre-optic network, expected to boost broadband Internet penetration and speed into residential homes, will be made by year end.

Energy, Water and Communications Minister Datuk Seri Dr Lim Keng Yaik said the Government had yet to explore whether the build-up should be an entirely Government initiative or that Telekom be roped in as well as the country's main fixed line operators.
