BRUSSELS (AP) - Recent turbulence on international financial markets and the strength of the euro in recent months has not changed the EU executive's forecast for strong growth this year, EU Economic and Monetary Affairs Commissioner Joaquin Almunia said.
The EU upped its predictions last month, saying the economies of the 13 nations of the euro area should expand 2.4 percent with the entire EU growing 2.7 percent.
