BRUSSELS, Belgium (AP): Slovakia has revalued its currency against the euro upwards by 8.5 percent, the European Commission said Friday, saying this would help the government keep its economy stable as it aims to join the euro in 2009.
It is the first time in eight years that any of the currencies in the European Rate Mechanism II _ have been revalued.
