Maybank targets 40,000 young savers

KUALA LUMPUR: Malayan Banking Bhd expects its first online savings account for teenagers to attract 30,000 to 40,000 customers with some RM40mil to RM50mil in total deposits within a year. 

Maybank eChannels head Ahmad Shareza Abdul Rahman said the bank had developed the portal, myzone@Maybank2u – claimed to be the country’s first banking portal exclusively for teenagers – to pave the way for its first online savings product, imteen Account.
