KUALA LUMPUR: Bank Negara is confident the economic strength seen through last year will be sustained in 2007 as the more diversified Malaysian economy will provide a strong foundation for further growth.
The central bank also believes the fall in Bursa Malaysia over the past two days reflects the more globalised environment the country is in but stressed that its data show the drop in local equities has not affected the bond market or foreign exchange flows.
