KUALA LUMPUR: Sime Darby Bhd's net profit soared 184% to RM645.7mil for the second quarter ended Dec 31, mainly boosted by a hefty exceptional gain from the disposal of its stake in Jaya Holdings Ltd in November.
Revenue dropped slightly to RM4.8bil from RM4.88bil in the previous corresponding quarter while pre-tax profit jumped 126% to RM724mil from RM320mil previously. Earnings per share came in at 25.2 sen versus 8.6 sen.
