KUALA LUMPUR: Bank Negara will monitor the ringgit's movement to ensure it is not disruptive to the economy, said governor Tan Sri Dr Zeti Akhtar Aziz.
Asked whether the central bank was defending the ringgit at the 3.5 level against the US dollar, Zeti said the ringgit's movement would be monitored to ensure it was orderly as this was vital for the country's economy.
