BEIJING: Wary of an unwanted rebound in investment, China's central bank is hoping to succeed where it failed last year and slow loan growth in 2007 to around 13%, banking sources said on Monday.
The People's Bank of China on Friday signalled its intent to keep a firmer lid on credit by raising the percentage of deposits that banks must tie up in reserve, instead of lending out, for the fourth time in seven months.
