TOKYO: Japanese silicon wafer maker SUMCO Corp said yesterday it would issue new shares to raise 59.8bil yen (US$515.1mil) to help boost its output of advanced 300mm wafers and pay off debt.
SUMCO, the worlds second largest silicon wafer maker behind ShinEtsu Chemical Co Ltd, said it would sell 6.85 million new shares. It added that it will implement a 2-for-1share split on Jan 31.
