Hock Seng Lee has order book of RM900mil

KUCHING:Hock Seng Lee Bhd, which recorded a group pre-tax profit of RM12.8mil for the quarter ended Sept 30, has an order book of RM900mil. 

Company's group managing director Paul Yu Chee Hoe said the company now had 30 projects in hand. 

He said the company would leverage on its marine engineering expertise to bid for major infrastructure projects in Sarawak and Sabah. 

Yu said the company registered a group pre-tax profit of RM34.8mil for the first nine months of the current financial year, an improvement over RM32.5mil recorded for the same period last year. 

``We should do better this year,'' he added in a press statement on Thursday. 

He said the company's property development arm, Hock Seng Lee Construction Sdn Bhd,had increased its contribution to group revenue from 7% to 13% during the past nine months. 

Yu said the company had recently handed over the first phase (90 units) of a 642-unit Semariang Aman residential development in Kuching City North. 

``Phase two of the project is near completion while the sales of the units in phase three and four are going well. 

``We are establishing ourselves as a developer of stylish quality homes.We have plans to implement new residential projects,'' he added. 

Yu said the company had built up its landbank to 240 ha in Kuching, Bintulu and other locations.
