KLCI rises six points on select buying


PETALING JAYA: The KL Composite Index (KLCI) reached an intra-day high of 998.75 points yesterday – a fresh 6½-year peak – buoyed by buying interest in select banking, plantation and timber stocks. 

The benchmark index finished 5.91 points, or 0.6% higher, at 995.25. The Second Board Index gained 0.27 point to 88.55 but the Mesdaq index fell 0.32 point to 114.78.
