Dialog Telekom profit surges

COLOMBO: Dialog Telekom Ltd, the Sri Lankan unit of Telekom Malaysia Bhd, said pre-tax profit for the nine months ended Sept 30 soared to 7.55 billion rupees (about RM610mil), helped by the increase in calls from a larger subscriber base. 

Dialog alone contributed a net profit of 7.46 billion rupees, up 45% from the equivalent 2005 period.
