Harrah’s move boosts Genting


KUALA LUMPUR: News of Harrah’s Entertainment Inc's 11th-hour exit from the Sentosa Island bid yesterday lifted Genting Bhd’s shares to their highest level in 10 years. 

The counter, which had been rising since last Wednesday, opened at the day’s low of RM25.50 and hit an intra-day high of RM26.50 – its highest price in 10 years. It closed at RM25.50 on a volume of 2.7 million shares. The call warrants, Genting-CA, rose in tandem, putting on four sen to 27.5 sen on heavy volume of 22.3 million shares.
