Paulson says G-7 discussed fighting alleged illicit financing by Iran, North Korea

SINGAPORE (AP): U.S. Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson on Saturday said Group of Seven finance chiefs were alert to alleged illegal financial activities by Iran and North Korea, and urged stronger international efforts to fight the problem. 

"We discussed the need to take action to disrupt terrorist and illicit finance related to specific threats from North Korea and Iran,'' Paulson said in a statement at the conclusion of a meeting of G-7 finance chiefs and central bankers.
