LONDON (AP) - Airlines and travel companies were dealt a sharp blow Thursday by the discovery of a terrorist plot aimed at trans-Atlantic flights, with shares in leading carriers falling as flights were canceled in and out of Britain.
Analysts said the main immediate impact would come from the cost of canceled flights, but that all airlines would be affected in the longer term by higher security costs.
