PETALING JAYA: Petronas Gas Bhd reported a 2.39% increase in pre-tax profit to RM311.8mil on revenue of RM717mil for the first quarter ended June 30.

Net profit rose slightly, by RM2.1mil, to RM291.3mil for the period under review.

The company attributed the improved profit to higher interest income and lower finance costs.

In its notes to Bursa, the company said revenue prospects for its gas processing and transmission business would continue to depend on upstream gas production levels.

The company added that it expected revenue from the utilities business to increase as a result of higher sales.
