NATURAL rubber (NR) prices continued to strengthen in the second quarter of this year, dismissing any sign of weakening as forecasted earlier. This is given global tight supplies and strong demand from major consuming countries.
Last Thursday, the Malaysian rubber market rallied to close at its highest level this year, which saw tyre grade Standard Malaysian Rubber SMR 20 closing at 744 sen per kg from 741.50 sen per kg recorded on Feb 10 this year.
