Sime tasked with northern job

PLANTATION conglomerate Sime Darby Bhd has been chosen to spearhead the development of the northern corridor belt of PeninsularMalaysia. 

Under the Ninth Malaysia Plan (9MP), the northern corridor (also called Northern Peninsular Development Zone of Kedah, Perlis,Seberang Prai and northern Perak) is earmarked as Malaysia's agriculture and food industries area with a RM23.8bil allocation,representing 11.9% of the total 9MP fund.
