KUALA LUMPUR: The forging of trade relationships and removal of trade barriers accords new opportunities and challenges that export-based manufacturers should tap into if they want to stay ahead of competition, said Federation of Malaysian Manufacturers (FMM) president Datuk Yong Poh Kon.

“Exporters must be aware of changing global market trends. They will have to be more competitive through enhanced productivity, creative product development, extensive networking and brand promotion,” Yong said at the launching of the 37th Edition of FMM Directory of Malaysian Industries yesterday.
