A Singapore-based brokerage said aggressive investors might want to take a bet on Bandar Raya, which is on track to return to the black this year after a pre-tax loss of RM64mil last year. The brokerage said profits were expected from its property development arm's The Troika project and higher selling prices of chipboard of its subsidiary, Mieco Chipboard Bhd. The higher rentals from investment properties, namely the Bangsar Shopping Centre and the Permas Point Shopping Centre in Johor Baru, are also a plus factor. Bandar Raya's share price has rebounded from its low of 76 sen last Nov to RM1.50 but currently, it is still trading at a steep discount from its book net tangible asset of RM2.42.
